Each August all eyes of the eSports scene turn to Germany and the upcoming eSports Award Ceremony. Viewers from all over the world tune in to watch who of their stars gets the coveted trophy.

As the most prestigious accolade available in eSports, the Award is designed to give athletes, teams, journalists and developers involved in eSports proper recognition for their work and sportsmanship. Only the best of the best are honoured with the prize.

Players are nominated for specific achievements in single tournaments. The eSports Award is able to retain its position as keeper of the gold standard since its voting body consists of those most experienced in their field and in eSports in general.

In most categories, the final winners are determined by this jury, that is composed of the ablest players and journalists, while the community chooses the awards honouring achievements for the community. The winners are crowned during the grand eSports Award Ceremony with the "who is who" of eSports in attendance on August 22th.

Team Pandemic is pleased to announce its second nomination for the award, this time in honor of Pandemic.CoD's Justin "Prank" DeMara for top CoD4 player. Justin has been a member of Pandemic for over two years now, and perhaps most famously played a key role in the team's 2008 world tour which was highlighted by their win at the Antwerp Esports Festival.

Time and again he has proven his value, claiming more than 13 Call of Duty championship titles during his run while placing top-3 in virtually every other event he's failed to win outright. His role as a sniper has allowed him to break games wide open, and often times the outcome would come to rest solely on his shoulders.

When given a chance to provide a 'for your consideration' statement to the academy of voters, Justin offered the following:

"First off, I would like to thank everyone who brought my name forward to become part of this elite group of nominees. Being the only North American in the field leaves me at an extreme disadvantage as the majority of the community looking at me has only seen me play on demos and the rare international events that I have been able to attend... winning this award would mean a lot to me and put the icing on the cake in terms of accomplishments in my Call of Duty career. Thank you again for your consideration."
