Part of the one-two Pandemic punch at this year's Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in France, the Black squad, featuring indomitable leader Joe “NoktyN” Romano, the hype competitive Dave “sck” Quick, and Pandemic's newest members, Chris “douja” Cossey, will be looking to rebound from a disappointing finish at MLG San Diego - Pandemic's first ever 3v3 tournament loss.

“No one on the team took the loss hard at all, the more time goes on the more teams are going to realize how the game is played and when that happens, the top finishers at events are going to vary a lot,” explains Quick, “WoW is not a game in which you have a lot of control over, you have to be patient and not get frustrated when things don't go your way. Losing a tournament is no different.”

In Paris, they'll have a chance to redeem themselves against the best teams from Europe, Asia, and America.

“I have no idea what to expect (from the international teams),” said Quick, “I'm a fan of seeing fresh ideas and group comps come to the table so hopefully we'll see some really inventive teams step up and put on a good show.”

Whether Pandemic shows some of their own creativity will be a question best saved for this weekend, but it's a safe bet that the three members of Black team won't stick solely with the Warrior/Shaman/Paladin composition that failed to pull a win in San Diego.

“We learned that the days of trying to make things work without a Druid in the lineup are over. It's gotten to the point that you either run RMP (Rogue/Mage/Priest) or you run something with a Druid healer in it or you go home,” laments Quick, “I guess we already knew that but we really just wanted to see how things would work out at San Diego and they didn't. We'll be ready by Orlando.”

“Druid is the one class that we have not had a player on the team play as their main. Even though the class is pretty broken and overpowered, there is definitely a pretty big learning curve to it and it is not easy to master. Douja gave it a try but things didn't quite work out... at least in time for MLG/Online Ladder Qualification. Overall, though, we were all relatively unsure as to what would be good against Druid/Priest/Hunter and in the end things just didn't work out as we expected.”

As for himself personally, the WWI will likely be the first time Sck plays something other than his main, Paladin.

“I'm actually really looking forward to playing something other than Paladin at LAN, I had actually been planning on playing something different at MLG but the opportunity didn't come,” smiles Quick, “Paladins are... well... really bad, it's unfortunate that I can't bring the knowledge and experience I have playing that class to the table and have it be anything but a burden. I'm totally ready for the change though.”

Today, Quick, along with five other teammates, heads to France for another chapter in World of Warcraft Arena, looking to bring back Pandemic's winning ways.

“Not looking forward to the long flight but I'm ready,” he said, “Definitely looking forward to seeing the Paris scenery and the people coming to the event!”
