Castro and TT1 Upset Heavy Favorites, Advance to Final 16 of TSL
This past weekend the grueling TSL qualifier stage came to a thrilling end as 13 spots in the Ro16 were up for grabs. Pandemic.SC's very own Jose "CaStrO" Castro and Payam "TT1" Toghyan were part of the final round of qualifiers - both going up against mousesports players, Strelok (former WCG Grand Final 3rd place medalist) and MaNa one of the best young Polish players. With the community and bettors everywhere putting little stock in our players advancing, both CaStrO and TT1 were able to defy odds and come up with convincing wins.
CaStrO was able to defeat MaNa in an intense series and a final score of 3-0 to advance to the Ro16. TT1 also scored a commanding victory, defeating the Ukrainian terran with a 3-1 score. With these wins, both players have secured at least $250 of the overall $23,000 prize pool.

The road will not get any easier for our two heroes, as both are faced with tough opponents in the Ro16 - CaStrO is playing the #2 non Korean player, Ret and TT1 is facing off arguably the 3rd best non Korean player, White-Ra. With enough preparation however, anything is possible. The action starts up again in just a few weeks - with a Ro16 win each player will secure another $250 to make their winnings up to $500!
