Last season’s champions, Loaded, are heading into the season as the favorites to win it all again. Having the most powerful scout combo out of all the teams in competitive play, Carnage and Enigma continually pressure your team’s defense and wreak havoc. Whether they are pushing your team’s medic, or moving on to the next spire these two players are game changers. The newest addition to their roster is Pure who was formerly with Complexity; he will be playing medic and tops off this star-studded lineup. These guys are the team to beat, but don’t be too surprised if their regular season record isn’t all that impressive. They will surely bring their A-Game to the LAN finals, despite what their regular season performance was.

After back to back ESEA-Invite finals appearances, EG still hasn’t gotten the formula right to nail down the championship. The team is probably hoping the third time is the charm, and a change in scenery at the LAN finals might just do it. This team has the potential to dominate during the season: the individual skill of this team is high and their teamwork is even better. Figuring out where they went wrong during the playoffs and correcting it this season is going to be important for EG. They will be at the LAN finals, and they will be vying for that prestigious number one spot, but will they be able to close it out and win this time?

At the beginning of November the MoB-Gaming organization announced their new TF2 team would be Strickland Propane. The team had enjoyed great success in Season 3, of ESEA-Open before getting called up to the invite division for Season 4. In their first season playing invite, the team experienced some growing pains and finished the season at .500. Coming in with a little more experience and a good sponsor to back them, expect some great play by them this season. Whether or not good play will get them into the playoffs I think MoB should be looking to build off of last season and not worry too much about making it to the LAN finals. Taking it week by week will help their overall success.

Pandemic's newly formed lineup has been away from competitive competition for quite some time, but are hoping to build on the past success the Pandemic tag has brought. While hopes are high for the team it is hard to say where they will end up in the standings without having seen them play a competitive match. Long hours of practice and a strong leader in TheFragile can only go so far -- so don’t be stunned if the team has a slow start. I see a late season surge from this team, and when things start to get rolling, a respectable place in the standings should follow.

One of the teams invited into ESEA-Invite for Season 5 is Immortal 7. The team consists of part of the former Area 51 roster, which won Season 3 ESEA-Open they are hoping to show they have what it takes to play in the invite division. I don’t see it happening, and this is going to be very hard season for them. It’s tough to say the truth sometimes, but I believe this team will be last in the division at the end of the season, but remember that anything can happen!

The former 20ID roster had a rollercoaster ride of a season last year. A very strong performance during the regular season started to slow down come playoff time and after back to back losses to EG and Loaded they were sent home. A great regular season record should follow again, but being able to close it out during the playoffs will be the goal. Blight should be looking for strong consistent play from Seagull and Blackstar to power this team to the next level. The team has all the pieces needed to contend in the invite division, they just need someone to stand out as their leader both in game and out.

Vicious Gaming is going to be coming into the season with their heads high, and a game face ready to compete. The team that had a fair showing last season made some big roster changes that should improve the team’s performance dramatically. Adding none other than REP and Hell from the old Complexity team, as well as Wicked and Bigpun this team might just turn some heads this season. With relatively no pressure on them this team will be calm, cool, and collected all season long and could produce some unexpected upsets. This is the one team that will turn some heads this season so get ready!

It was starting to look like it was going to be a tough season for TBA, formerly using Point and Click as their team name. However, on November 30th a couple roster changes ensued which will allow them to have a little more breathing room. In a heavily congested division the additions of Hubris, Technasty, and Paladin make this team a lot better, but it won’t be enough for them to overcome the other very strong rosters in the division. They should end the season near the bottom.
