Pandemic.CSS Weekly Recap: Undefeated After Week 1

Pandemic’s new Counter Strike: Source roster got their first taste of action this week after returning to completive play. Starting with an impressive 2-0 record the rest of the season is looking promising for the newly formed lineup.

CEVO 1.1 – Cyber Revolution:
The start of the new season took place on Monday evening where Team Pandemic went head to head with Cyber Revolution. Starting on the Terrorist side, Pandemic took the early advantage by winning the pistol round and then stringing together multiple rounds to go up by a score of 9-2. The momentum didn’t last forever though as Cyber Revolution ended up taking the next four rounds, as the half ended with a score of 9-6 for Pandemic. Team Pandemic's top fragger for the half was Ksharp who had an impressive score of 22-11.

To start of the second half Cyber Revolution used their momentum to capture the pistol round taking out all five members of Pandemic without dying themselves. This would be crucial as they would now be able to tie the score at 9-9, because Pandemic was unable to buy. The next round would be very unfortunate as Pandemic lost their first buy round and went down 10-9 and would be losing for the first time in the match. While managing to keep his cool, Paradox would make some crucial kills on a save round to win it and tie it back up at an even 10-10. From there Pandemic would win out and capture their first win of the season 16-10 over Cyber Revolution.

CEVO 1.2 - ZOLTAN:
The next team Pandemic would face would be none other than ZOLTAN, the same team they faced in the first round of the CEVO-P Placement Tournament and defeated. The match went back and forth in the first half as it ended with a score of 9-6. In the second half however, Pandemic managed to take advantage of some ZOLTAN weaknesses as they won the match 16-10. A crucial point in the match was when Pandemic managed to eco ZOLTAN twice on their CT side.

The team returns to action Monday evening when they face off against Absolution on the well known map de_dust2. A matchup with Frag Dominant is scheduled for Thursday.
