Pandemic.SC Week in Review: An Underdog Win

Having only one clan war this past weekend seemed to help our players focus on the match at hand. Facing the top dog in the league, Russia's RoX.KiS, Pandemic would have to play exceptionally well to win. In this special week however, both RoX and Pandemic were missing some key players due to their trip to Korea's IEF, and depth - not star power - would ultimately tip the scales.

Pandemic would fall into a deep hole early as Gosudark and Kabal narrowly lost each of their matches 1-2 in the best-of-three format. Momentum swung quickly and the outcome changed, however, as the team managed to pull three straight victories for a 3-2 team win. This victory puts the team in an excellent position for the post-season -- all but guaranteeing Pandemic.SC a spot in the playoffs.

Pandemic edges RoX to improve to a 5-1 record in WGTour

“It feels okay,” said Starcraft Divisional Manager Duran “Xeris” Parsi, “but I think we got lucky, their lineup wasn't very good.”

Though Parsi hesitates to celebrate the somewhat non-traditional win, Pandemic.SC will have an opportunity to remove any doubt that the team is indeed for real this coming week when they face off versus the mighty ESC.

BWCL:
This coming weekend a new season of the Brood War Clan League will begin, with Pandemic.SC in the top division to play for the gold. In the past, we have had many opportunities to do well in the league, but have always fallen short. This season we hope to establish dominance in the league and take first place. The season starts this Sunday at 1pm Eastern time with the schedule of opponents to be released later this week.
