Ball State vs. UCF in Friday Night CGL TF2 Showdown – Watch it LIVE!

On Friday, November 14th at 6:00pm EST, Dell's College Gaming League will proudly present an intercollegiate esports clash pitting members of Ball State University's gaming team against their counterparts from the University of Central Florida in a 6v6 Team Fortress 2 matchup.

"We've been looking forward to a formal school-versus-school matchup like this for some time," said Chris Lemley, manager of Team Pandemic. "At the heart of the CGL's design was a desire to see the passion and pageantry of collegiate rivalries crossover into esports. BSU versus UCF is a step in that direction."

And while the Cardinals and Knights don't celebrate a 'real-world' rivalry, this match could go a long way in helping the CGL reach that goal in a virtual setting.

"Both campuses have organized large gaming clubs who regularly host LAN parties and competition, so naturally we both take pride in the strength of our gamers and gaming teams," said Jordan Toor of UCF. "Now, we've been given a chance to measure ourselves and see who truly is the better gaming school."

Jordan's teammate, Mike Santini , had even stronger feelings. "We take gaming seriously here… last year, we organized a match with the University of Texas in CS:Source and took them down in convincing fashion. This time, volunteers have set up projectors for attendees of our Knight4Gamers event [held alongside the match at the UCF campus Friday night] so the rest of the student body can come watch us win another."

Ball State comes into Friday's contest – their first of the format - a bit more modest. "I've been playing online games for going on nine years now," said Scott Mann of the Cardinals, "but I've never participated in an event of this caliber. I know we here at BSU are pumped for the match, and I know it's going to be alot of fun."

The match is slated to be a best of three series on badlands, gravelpit, and granary using standard CEVO rules. The starting lineups for each school are as follows:
