Team Pandemic - News - Pandemic blisters through CEVO Sennheiser Open

Just days after returning from a successful trip to San Jose where the team pulled off a Geforce LAN victory at Nvision 2008, taking home $4200 in cash and Palit Geforce 280 GTX's for all, Pandemic Team Fortress 2 was back in action in the CEVO Sennheiser Open finals.

In the online tournament lasting about a month, Pandemic managed to streak to the finals by obliterating all their opposition, posting a 27-1 RF:RA ratio throughout the event. That left them as upper bracket winners, awaiting an opponent to emerge from the rest of the field.

That stacked roster keeps on rolling.

That foe would be an old friend in Devastation, a team Pandemic battled in the CEVO Season 1 playoffs months ago.

Despite their status as upper bracket champions, CEVO's format afforded no advantage for Pandemic, forcing them to take two maps in a best of three series to win the championship.

The first would cp_gravelpit, Pandemic's natural map choice due to their worldwide dominance on it. It proved a sound decision as they easily took two quick rounds against Devastation to take a 1-0 series lead.

Devastation's choice would be an easy one, as after seeing Pandemic dropped 0-5 on cp_granary at Nvision by Eximius it seemed like a logical choice for a Dev team known as the best on granary in the early stages of TF2. Despite an early blip, though, dropping the opening round, Pandemic stormed back with five straight, dominating Devastation with a 5-1 victory to win the Sennheiser open.

The victory earned the team six Sennheiser PC 350 Gaming Headsets, a $1500 value, and continues their rampage as the top team in the TF2 world. Their 33-2 RF:RA mark throughout the Open shows just how dominant Pandemic can be.
