Pandemic's Guitar Hero superstar, Michael "Priest" Holmes, earned over $3,000 for the Riley Hospital for Children in an Nvidia-sponsored showcase.

Priest, popularized by his performances at the World Series of Video Games and his 10million+ YouTube views, was honored to receive such a fitting challenge from Nvidia: play three songs of the audience's chosing on expert and earn $100 for the charity of his choice for every star. Easy enough, right? The pressure was raised to another level, though, when they offered up an additional $500 bonus per song if he could score a perfect 100%.

The game version of choice was Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, a title Holmes admitted he had barely even touched yet, but despite his lack of experience with the new tracks his technical skills were never in question. Starting with Stone Temple Pilots he railed off a pair of 5-star 100%s, racking up the cash for the hospital in front of a large crowd at the Geforce LAN of Nvision 2008. By the time the third and final song ended, the crowd could hardly believe he'd collected every star - and likewise every dollar - up for grabs.

Though no championships or trophies were on the line, it's no doubt this was one of Priest's finest moments in gaming. Knowing he's helped give such a generous gift to his local children's hospital is something we can all be just as proud of; thanks so much to the wonderful people at Nvidia.
