After a getting back from their European tour three weeks ago Pandemic.CoD4 decided to take a break
from their routine practice schedule following their preparation for AEF and TEX and their eventual 1st
and 3rd finishes respectively. Although the team may have been on break, the North American Call of
Duty scene certainly wasn’t with a handful of teams jumping at the opportunity to rise atop the CEVO-Professional standings while Pandemic and EG had been away.
Pandemic’s first match back in the states came from a CEVO‐P rookie ItsOver team who took Pandemic
into overtime where the AEF champions narrowly managed to squeeze out the win. Unfortunately the
team would not get so lucky in their next two matches, forced to play focal 4v5, losing 11‐13 and then
MoBdeep with both Joe “muse” Paylado and Khiem “le” Le filling the missing Pandemic starters’ void.
Heading into week 5 with a less than desirable 3‐2 record after looking so dominate in Europe Pandemic
needed get back on track, however, the week’s map, mp_crossfire, would not help them in the least. To
further complicate the situation, Jason “crzg” Pielemeier’s video card overheated, putting him out of
commission and once again requiring Pandemic to utilize Paylado for the match, winning by a razor thin
13‐11 margin against a declining Ionic team.
To close out their stint on crossfire Pandemic was scheduled to play Dynamic who managed to climb the
CEVO‐P standings going undefeated until their loss against EG earlier in the week on crossfire. The match started with both teams trading rounds to bring the score to 3-3 tie, however, after a few quick adjustments on Pandemic's end the team managed to slowly inch out a narrow 7-5 lead at half. Although Pandemic continued to lengthen their lead coming into the second half, Dynamic was determined to take down the AEF champions, mounting an impressive 4 round comeback at the end until Pandemic took the final round behind the excellent scope of Justin “prank” DeMara.
