Upper Bracket playoff update:
Coming out undefeated in group play, Pandemic received the top seed in the double elimination bracket and has been given a bye during the first round. After waiting for the playoff lower bracket round 1, upper bracket round 1 and lower bracket round 2, Pandemic finds themselves in their final match of the evening against eSuba in round two of the upper bracket. Besides advancing to round 3, the winner will also make 800€ as TEX's prize payout system pays teams for advancing through the upper bracket. Unfortunately our good friends at QuadV will not be covering Pandemic's match as they will be instead broadcasting Pandemic's North American counterpart, EG against MYM. Keep it locked here at TeamPandemic.net for match scores and of course, complete event coverage of day 2 here in Roskilde, Denmark.

Day One TEX Update:
With four matches in the first day, Pandemic kicked things off against Copenhagen eSports on Strike where they encountered the seemingly standard slow A push from the Swedes that many Europeans favor. After dropping a few rounds, Pandemic adapted to their offense and came back to win the half as well as the match by a 13-6 margin. Pandemic's second match of the day was against the British team Infused, who had bootcamped prior to the event and played fairly decent at AEF. Pandemic started playing on defense on Backlot where once again they were met with an interesting European push from Infused's offense. Once again as well, Pandemic adapted to win the half and the round by their seemingly favorite 13-6 score.

Pandemic's third match of the night was against fellow North American rivals Evil Geniuses in what many were predicting as a prelude to the eXperience grand finals. The match started off on Crash with EG taking an early 3-0 lead against Pandemic on defense, the widely considered easier side. With some well timed pushes, Pandemic managed to pick up three rounds of their own, tying the score to 3 all. For the next 10 rounds or so, Pandemic and EG traded round after round, never getting more than a one round lead over the other. During the final 5 rounds, however, impressive play 2v3 clutch play from Pandemic led to a small lead from which Pandemic finally bested their North American counterparts 13-10.

For their fourth and final match of the day, Pandemic was to go head to head with NCS Gaming from Turkey, a team that only lost to EG 10-13 in the group stage at AEF. Starting out on defense on Strike, Pandemic was met with a very unique offensive style the team had not seen from any North American or European opponent. Although the team tried to counter, NCS managed bring the score tied going into half. While NCS may have had the momentum on offense, Pandemic set to work breaking apart their defense to eventually win the match 13-9. Despite a group stage match schedule against Zetta tomorrow, with four victories in day one, Pandemic has secured the #1 spot in the group. This will advance them straight into the upper bracket of playoffs as well as giving them a bye during the first round, and coincidentally, 400€. Stay tuned tomorrow as Pandemic kicks things off against Team Zetta at 2:30PM local time or 8:30AM EST!

--------------------------------------------------

Only days after their victory at the Antwerp eSports Festival, Pandemic.CoD4 packs its bags once again and heads to Roskilde, Denmark for the eXperience LAN event held in the Gimle. The eXperience is Pandemic’s second and last stop in Europe as the team will not be attending i34 due to the inability to play matches on desktop computers as the tournament is completely BYOC. The eXperience will be quite different from AEF where many people wrote Pandemic off as lesser version of EG. This time, Pandemic will be the one everyone looks to beat as the European teams make sure this second event does not go to their comrades overseas.

Unfortunately absent from this event will be AEF runner-ups KomaCrew as vacations have left them unable to attend. In Pandemic’s run through AEF, KomaCrew was the only team to gain more than 6 rounds on the team as well as be the only team to defeat Pandemic on a single map. Regardless, the eXperience will definitely field an impressive team list to challenge Pandemic for a second title in Denmark.

Fellow North American powerhouse Evil Geniuses’ placed 4th at AEF, well below what the public predicted and certainly not what they wanted. After speaking with EG at the conclusion of the event, it seemed like they knew where they went wrong against KomaCrew and plan to make a rebound at the eXperience. This new fire in EG once again lights up the possibility of an all North American final at the eXperience as Pandemic and EG’s fans across the Atlantic would love nothing more to see the top two North American teams battle it out for a championship on foreign soil. For that happen however, Pandemic and EG will need to best the other top European squads in attendance such as Dignitas, Fnatic, eSuba, MYM, and Tek-9.

Arguably Pandemic’s biggest European competition will come from Dignitas who took 3rd at AEF behind KomaCrew. Dignitas played extremely well throughout the tournament topping most of their competition in nail biting matches. Unfortunately, the team came up short against KomaCrew but that will not stop CoD legend “mick”, who many say is starting to resemble his old self on the infamous WHO-crew back in CoD1, as he attempts to lead his team to victory. Also front running for Dignitas is “blackmane” who many debate is the best sniper in Europe.

Meanwhile, eSuba will also be looking for big results as they had been playing very well online prior to AEF managed to get eliminated from the tournament relatively early. eSuba have been bootcamping for the past few days, definitely making them a force to be reckoned with at TEX. Additionally, MYM will be looking for nothing less than a top 3 result at TEX after finishing 5th/6th at AEF. The British powerhouse had a rough start to AEF, losing one group stage match and tying the other. This sent MYM into the second group stage where they narrowly made it to the playoff bracket. AEF hosts, Tek-9, seem to be coming back in form after numerous roster changes and a period of poor results. The Belgium natives seemed to play fairly consistent at AEF as their main focus now will be improving upon their results.

With the entire CoD4 community waiting in anticipation for the start of TEX, Pandemic and the rest of the world’s best gears up for what some think will be an event twice as exciting as the first. As for the actual tournament, the eXperience will first randomly place teams in 8 groups of 4 teams each with the first and second place winner of each group advancing to the upper bracket of the double elimination playoffs. The third and fourth place finishers in each group will not be eliminated, however, as they will be seeded into the lower bracket of the playoffs and do or die situation to remain in the tournament.

Additionally, TEX will use a different prize payout system then AEF where teams will win money for every upper bracket match they win. As the bracket continues to narrow the teams down, each team will win more money per match. To top it all off, however, first, second and third palace overall finishers will each receive a flat sum of money. Unfortunately this means a team that advances to the finals in the lower bracket will make significantly less than one who remains undefeated or spends most of their time in the upper bracket.

Stay tuned to TeamPandemic.net for complete coverage from the eXperience including blogs, scores, pictures and much more. Additionally, our good friends from QuadV will again be attendance at the eXperience bringing you all the action live via their website at www.quadv.com. Also be sure to check out QuadV’s AEF Video on Demand section where you can rewatch your favorite moments of AEF!
