Pandemic vs EG Upper Bracket Finals Preview
Two days of continuous matches and we find ourselves exactly where many predicted us to be, in an upper bracket finals match against EG. Throughout the entire tournament both Pandemic and EG have shown they are indeed the top two teams in North America, defeating each of their opponents with relative ease. The last time these two teams met it was on mp_crash, however, because this is only the upper bracket finals, the match will be played on mp_strike and not a best of three map format.

Strike was one of Pandemic's best maps for the longest time until EG was finally able to not only defeat them, but crush them on the map. Besides this little friendly rivalry, EG remains the only team, to this day, to defeat Pandemic more times than Pandemic has beaten them, sporting a 3-2 series lead.

Don't think for one second, however, that Pandemic is down and out for this match. A lot has changed since the last time these two teams played this match with respect to their rosters and strats. Pandemic's bootcamp and Justin "prank" DeMara's house has been relatively untested as most of Pandemic's opponents haven't been top competitors. Now is the time to see just how much Pandemic improved over the course of the week and whether they have what it takes to beat EG.

EG, to no ones surprise, is not taking this match lightly. They have remained relatively calm when mention of Pandemic's bootcamp at DeMara's house, however, inside, they have been preparing for this match they knew would come. Yesterday even, EG was seen sitting directly behind Pandemic in a line of five chairs watching them play Minutemen on mp_crash.

This next match will take place today (Sunday, June 22nd) at 11:00AM EST. Pandemic vs x3o-gaming Match Recap
Pandemic started on the offense side with an extremely coordinated push towards the A bombsite. With well placed grenades, smokes, and flashes, Pandemic was consistently able to take the A bombsite and plant the bomb. Once the bomb was planted, the round was essentially guaranteed in Pandemic's favor as they would setup around the bombsite covering all entrances. On the few rounds Pandemic pushed towards the B bombsite their grenades kept x3o out of B hallway and allowed them to push quickly into the bombsite for a plant.

On defense, Pandemic played aggressive, not letting x3o slowly peak or bait them inside the bombsites. With a number of A platform pushes as well as mid-courtyard rushes, Pandemic was able to pin x3o and take them out one by one. Overall it was a good match, however, Pandemic's teamwork and preparation really showed.

After eight straight hours of matches today, Pandemic closed the group stage portion of NERV LAN #2 with their final match against Minutemen. Despite numerous group changes, map changes, and teams in each group, Pandemic was able to weather the chaos and do exactly what they intended, win.

Seeded into Group 1 with four teams, Pandemic was scheduled to play Pwnstars, Fuel Gaming (makeSHIFT) and a last second Minutemen pug team. Needless to say, the bootcamp at Justin "prank" DeMara's house definitely delivered its desired effect as Pandemic was easily able to sweep past all three teams, including the talented Minutement pug.

Throughout all three group stage matches, Pandemic exhibited the excellent skill and amazing teamwork they are known for, always seeming to overwhelm their opponents in 2v1 and 3v2 situations or getting behind them. Although Pandemic was easily favored to sweep the group competition, they played as if every round was the winning round of a finals match, not letting a lead in rounds get to their head and distract their game.

Although Pandemic achieved a near perfect group stage score, because the group stage matches were not played out, top seeds were randomized into the double elimination bracket with Pandemic taking the #2 seed behind Team EG in the bracket. Fortunately, this still means these two giants will still have a few more matches to win before finally confronting face to face.
