**UPDATE #2**
Check out Ted's day one recap here! Pandemic will begin their group stage matches at 2:45PM EST against Minutemen on mp_strike. Minutemen is essentially a pug team, however, their roster is full of talented CEVO-P players such as Josh "glad" Adams and Raul "Bond" Rosales of the former Enervate CoD2 team. Keep it locked here at TeamPandemic.net and www.e-rev.tv for match updates and live broadcast of the match!
**UPDATE** Ted will be kicking things off with the E-REV casting crew tonight (Friday) at 8:15PM EST for a pre-event show. Be sure to tune in at www.e-rev.tv!
This weekend Pandemic.CoD4 will be traveling to Allentown, Pennsylvania for the second Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare tournament hosted by the NERV Entertainment LAN center. The first event was in March earlier this year where, to many people’s surprise, Pandemic finished disappointingly in fourth place. Since that time, however, Pandemic has bounced back in top form, winning the TGL Last Stand Tournament, and more recently, FGL’s First Season of competition. Awarded the first seed coming into the event, Pandemic will first play in standard group stage format with the top two teams from each group advancing to a double elimination bracket.
Bootcamp setup in Justin “prank`” DeMara’s basement.
To prepare for the event, the entire Pandemic CoD4 team headed to team member Justin “prank” DeMara’s house for a strict bootcamp earlier in the week. Despite recent success online, the team felt a proper bootcamp would ensure the team will be in top form coming into NERV LAN #2, as well as give them good footing for the remaining summer LAN season.
“Jason ‘crzg’ Pielemeier and Keith ‘keith’ Hullenaar flew to Joe ‘nabore’ Amorosa’s house in New York. The three of them drove to Justin's house which was approximately 3 and a half hours away. I drove from Massachusetts to Justin's house, which took roughly 4 hours,” said David “Skinz” Patnode about the transportation arrangement.
After arriving at DeMara’s house the team quickly set up residence in the basement, mirroring the exact sitting arrangement the team will find themselves competing in at NERV.
Patnode comments, “The bootcamp at Justin's house was setup perfectly. Five computers in a row all setup on a LAN connection. I enjoyed it. It will definitely give us an edge over the other teams participating at the event.”
As for the team’s expectation on their results, team leader Joe “nabore” Amorosa comments simply, “My expectation for this event is nothing less than 1st place.”
Amorosa beating Keith by two strokes.
A lofty goal indeed, however, Amorosa continues, “We have been working hard to win and we all expect to do just that. The level of dedication across the board has been phenomenal, and we are sure that it is going to pay off for us in the next few months.” Additionally, Amorosa commented specifically about this event, “We also feel we have something to prove at this event, due to the unfortunate circumstances that happened at the first NERV LAN.”
Pandemic’s major competition at NERV will be, to no one’s surprise, Team EG. Both teams have been performing slightly a cut above the rest of the competition which has caused many to predict another Pandemic vs. EG match for the grand finals.
“In terms of us meeting EG in the finals, I hope it happens. They are a good squad and give us a run for our money, and that's something we all look forward to. I think this time we are in a little better shape,” smiles Amorosa.
