| Pandemic Begins Blizzard Online Qualification |

Today marks the beginning of the competition phase of the first World of Warcraft Arena Tournament to be held on the brand new Tournament Realms. Pandemic’s WoW team has been bootcamping in TeamPandemic’s owner Chris Lemley’s house to prepare for this most important tournament. During the past few weeks, the Tournament Realm was open for the first phase, or ‘Practice Phase’ of the event, and thousands of players rushed to create characters using the brand new system. Allowing players to start characters at the level 70 cap with access to a huge variety of gear on nearby merchants, Blizzard's created the first truly balanced online environment for competitive World of Warcraft. The second phase or ‘Competition Phase’ of the tournament is now active, ranging from April 22nd through May 6th. Rating gained during this phase carries over to the third and final phase, so this is a very important time for Pandemic to be concentrating on climbing the ratings towards the top four spots. Teams have till May 6th to decide on a final roster, and at that point players will not be able to switch teams. However, before that date, teams will suffer a 150 team rating penalty for any player added to a team. With a very knowledgeable and well rounded team, Pandemic has already selected the roles each player on the roster will fill for this stage of the tournament.
Sck: 'Playing from the same room ensures that we're on the same page at all times'
The last segment of the event starts on May 6th, in which the team rosters will be locked. Through the second and final phases combined, teams will need to accumulate a minimum of 200 games played to be able to advance. The top four teams that meet that criteria will be invited to attend Blizzard's live regional tournament. Pandemic is excited to again have the chance to qualify to attend a Blizzard regional tournament, especially without the headache of last year's qualification regulations and process. In early June 2007 the team travelled to San Diego for the first Regional World of Warcraft Finals in which they placed 3rd with a short roster.
Pandemic’s WoW team will no doubt be one of the only teams bootcamping together to compete in this phase, showing the dedication of these players to their sport. Joe "Noktyn" Romano, David "Sck" Quick, Chris "Douja" Cossey and Mason "Nitrana" Groendal have been practicing in the same room since the opening of the Tournament Realms. Their prior LAN experience in the WSVG’s will be evident, since they all know how to work together, and having zero latency between their communication will be an advantage for the team. More coverage on the bootcamping aspect can be found in Pandemic exclusive interviews with the team.

specific games, and team thoughts on the competition during the tournament.

"Pandemic’s WoW team will no doubt be one of the only teams bootcamping together to compete in this phase, showing the dedication of these players to their sport."
Ok, what makes this funny is the fact you will still lose to people who don't do this. Proving Lemely is indeed a retard owner who thinks his failure of a team that sponsors second rate games is "the best in the world".
Also:"In early June 2008 the team travelled to San Diego for the first Regional World of Warcraft Finals in which they placed 3rd with a short roster."
OR your just bad and don't want to man up. |

#5 - It depends on what you count as a "second rate game," but if you take into account the age of competitive WoW and the large amount of money thrown into the game, it's a lot compared to even the most mainstream of eSports. It looks as if it can even continue to grow exponentially. So no, I don't think it's what you would call "second rate". Oh yeah, that's coming from someone that doesn't even play WoW...
In June 2007 at SD, the team was short due to Blizzard's crap rules. Go on, read about it: http://www.teampandemic.net/article/130 - if you're too lazy, it's right here: "Also in attendance was Jared "Vhell" Coulston and Nathan "Kintt" Quinn, however, both were unable to compete due to eligibility rules. Without the team's starting roster or class matrix in action, Pandemic still managed a 3rd place finish."

Even though I'm not part of Pandemic anymore, I wish you guys the best of luck. |
