| CoD4 vs MoB in CEVO-P Playoffs Round 2 |

After eight weeks of intense competition, CEVO-Professional season 1 is drawing to a close as playoffs are set to begin this Monday, April 14th. Be sure to check out our CEVO-P S1 preview here.
The CEVO-P playoffs will consist of the top 6 teams in the division, with seedings based on the CPI. These teams will compete in a 6 team double-elimination bracket for the $4,250.00 prize pot. The teams in the playoffs have also secured their spot in the Professional division for CoD4 season 2.
Sporting an impressive 13-2 overall record and the highest rounds won/lost ratio of any team in the professional division, Pandemic has received the first seed into playoffs. With this first seed, Pandemic has been given a bye during the first round of the upper bracket.
The first round of the CEVO-P Playoffs bracket was nothing short of amazing. In a shocking turn of events, Guardians (5th Seed) upset Team EG (4th Seed) on Strike. Many predicted EG to advance to at least the second round of playoffs to contend with Nexus for a chance to play in the upper bracket finals. Instead, however, EG will have wait on the loser of Pandemic vs MoB to begin to battle their way back through the lower bracket.
Even more surprising, Nexus Gaming (2nd Seed), a team that had been one of the most consistent competitors in CEVO-P, tying Pandemic’s 13-2 record, was forced to forfeit out of playoffs after trying to sit Joe "Muse" Paylado, and finally the most recent announcement of Adam "deny" Phan’s move to EG. Although neither player has left the team or joined a new one due to rosters being locked, both players refused to play out the season with Nexus. This forced Nexus to forfeit as their backups were unable to step in throughout the entirety of playoffs.
In the second round of the CEVO-P playoff bracket, Pandemic finds themselves face to face with MoB Gaming, another team who has gone through a number of roster changes with still many more rumored to be on the way. The match will take place on mp_citystreets, a map where Pandemic had received one of their two losses of the entire season during week 1.
Since that time, however, Pandemic has made a slight adjustment with the addition of David “skinz” Patnode. Patnode’s impact on the team has been almost instantaneous as Pandemic has dominated in their past four matches against TaG (19-5), 20id (17-7), Eximius (19-5), and Frag Dominant (16-8).
Stay tuned as Pandemic begins their route to a second CEVO-P title (TF2 won their CEVO-P season) against MoB, Thursday, April 16th at 10:00PM EST. Video casting of the match will be provided by Gamefire, so be sure to tune in!
